The Digitizing Social Entrepreneurship Education project explores the potential of ICT and gamification to make entrepreneurship education more interesting to young people. It aims to promote entrepreneurship as aviable employment option for young people in Europe and Asia through improving the quality of education programs about the topic matter.

The DSEE Europe-Asia Conference wishes to engage other actors – relevant public bodies, universities, and private sector – in a dialogue to share knowledge, solutions and potential points of collaboration in the future. This is done with the hope of expanding ICT’s part in promoting social entrepreneurship as aviable employment alternative for young people.

The Conference aims:

  • To promote multi-stakeholder collaboration of different actors to mainstream ICT in entrepreneurship education programs;
  • To showcase ICT products that enhance the accessibility and inclusivity of entrepreneurship/skills development programs for young people;
  • To share knowledge on the entrepreneurship culture in Europe and Asia through the eyes of academics and entrepreneurs.

10:30 – 12:00 Session 1: ICT and Entrepreneurship Education

This plenary session invites 3-4 speakers from the public sector, private companies, youth organization and universities to share their experience in how ICT complements entrepreneurship-related education. Each speaker is given 10 minutes for his/her presentation; and will join a 20-minute panel discussion facilitated by a moderator.

  • Overview of the situation of youth entrepreneurship in the national, or regional level
  • What is ICT and why is it important in promoting entrepreneurship among young people?
  • What can private sector, government and the academic sector do to promote inclusive programs?
